This is one of our cartoon characters that President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama hand-painted in a lunchroom while observing the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday at the Stuart Hobson Middle School in Washington, DC. Monday, Jan. 17, 2011.
Even though this happened more than 5 years ago, we wanted to post it because, believe it or not, we are hoping to get a personal letter from the President regarding his use of our cartoons. While at the National Forum on Character Education in Washington, DC this past week, we met a national TV news reporter who is a White House Correspondent that attends the daily White House press briefings and, after hearing our story of the President and First Lady hand painting our cartoon characters on the cafeteria walls of a local school, volunteered to reach out the President and request a personal note to commemorate the event.
